The ask
We are seeking $175,000 to stock up on empty pods and play equipment and to hire a Program Coordinator responsible for creating and marketing RecessPods for Schools and RecessPods for Communities. This is the capital that turns a proven Cleveland program into a national product.
The model
Two revenue lines. Schools: $1,900/month subscriptions with five-month minimums. Communities: $50,000 containers plus programming, with sponsor-wrap upsells around $10,000. Our forecasting model projects repayment of investors between years 2 and 3, at a forecast sale of 10 community pods and 12 school pods — an EBITA of $418,870 with a 55% operating profit margin.
Why it scales
The hard part — programming that reliably produces play, connection, and data — is already built and proven across hundreds of events. Pods are inventory; the curriculum is digital; and the buyer set (schools, cities, foundations, sponsors) is national. Proof-of-concept deployments in 3 communities and 2 schools are the near-term milestone that unlocks foundation funding nationwide.
The impact case
Per Dr. Robert Ross’s research, $10 per person per year invested in physical activity programs could save more than $16 billion in annual U.S. healthcare costs within five years. Impact investors: this is a rare deal where the social return and the balance sheet point the same direction. Contact us for the full financial model.
