Use Cases

One pod, many buyers

A RecessPod is play infrastructure — and infrastructure gets used differently by everyone who touches it. These are the four buyer stories we see most, each with its own page:

  • Schools — restore recess, improve focus and conflict resolution, support the school day end to end.
  • Cities & park planners — test a future park site with a pop-up park and collect resident feedback before permanent investment.
  • Community organizations — reach disconnected families and link them to wraparound services through play.
  • Corporate sponsors — put your brand on the most talked-about 40 feet in the neighborhood.

Why the model works everywhere

Restore Recess programming was built in Cleveland’s play deserts, refined across hundreds of events, and packaged so the recipe travels: equipment, curriculum, placemaking, and data collection in one deployable unit. The families get play; the stakeholders get outcomes and the data to prove them.

Funding is usually a coalition

Most pods aren’t bought by one check. A foundation grant covers a share, a corporate wrap closes the gap, and a city or CDC hosts — each stakeholder getting a different return from the same eight weeks of play. We’ve structured our pricing and sponsorship program around that reality.
